Ways to Give
2 Corinthians 9:7 calls us to give cheerfully, not reluctantly.
Luke 6:38 reinforces that generosity brings spiritual and practical blessing.
Proverbs 3:9–10 instructs us to honor God with their resources.
Proverbs 10:22 teaches us that wealth is a blessing but also a responsibility.
There are various ways of supporting the parish's mission financially.
Weekly Sunday Giving using Offering Envelopes
Registered parishioners can opt to receive offertory envelopes in the mail. Please contact the parish office to enable bimonthly mailing of Sunday giving envelopes.
Meanwhile, there are blank envelopes in the pews for all Mass attendees.
Online Giving via OSV
If writing checks weekly or having cash on hand for offertory is too much of a hassle for busy families, setting up online giving on our portal is the way to go. To schedule online giving, please go to the SACRED HEART PARISH - MEDFORD, OR | Online Giving page.
Zelle
A quick way to send money from your bank account to the church is through Zelle.
Open your bank app and do one of the following:
*Search for the recipient sacredheartmedford or mrivera@archdpdx.org. The name Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church should pop up. If so, you found the right recipient.
*Scan the church's QR code on the left.
Legacy Giving and Estate Planning
You can leave a lasting legacy of faith by including Sacred Heart Church in your estate plans. Legacy giving allows you to support the parish beyond your lifetime through a bequest in your will or living trust, or by naming the church as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account. These gifts can be structured to support our general parish needs or a specific project close to your heart.
Your generosity helps us bring more people to a personal encounter with Christ. For specific transfer instructions or to discuss your estate planning intentions, please contact Marissa Rivera in the parish office at 541-779-4662,
mrivera@archdpdx.org or consult with your financial advisor.
Donating Appreciated Stock
If you own stock, bonds, or mutual funds that have grown in value, donating them directly to the parish is a highly tax-efficient way to give. By transferring the shares directly to Sacred Heart, you avoid paying capital gains taxes on the appreciation, and you may still claim a charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock.
Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
Parishioners aged 70½ or older can make a direct transfer from their traditional IRA to Sacred Heart Church through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). This transfer counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year but is excluded from your taxable income. It is a wonderful way to use retirement assets to make a meaningful, tax-free impact on our faith community.
